Spanish municipalities launch senior cultural programs

Municipalities in Spain are organizing various cultural and recreational programs for senior citizens throughout October.

In Marines, the 'Quincena Sénior 2026' features a diverse schedule including puppet theater by the Red Cross, various games such as petanque and dominoes, and workshops in pointillism, music therapy, and Chinese fan making. The program also includes a visit to the Diputación de Valencia, a literature and vermouth workshop, and a two-day trip to Jorquera and Alcalá del Júcar. Registration is required through the City Council or the Senior Center.

In A Coruña, municipal civic centers are offering over 1,000 free spots for four cultural excursions aimed at individuals over 55. These trips, scheduled for late October, will visit locations including Mondariz-Balneario, Ponteareas, Vigo, Vilalba, and Lugo. Participants must register at their local civic centers, with specific enrollment windows and limits on the number of places per applicant.
