Spanish municipalities launch urban art and muralism initiatives

Municipalities in Spain are launching various urban art initiatives to engage citizens and beautify public spaces.

In Aranjuez, the City Council is organizing a free muralism and urban art workshop for youths aged 14 to 20. Running from August 24 to 28, the program is coordinated by artist Juan Montes, known as ‘Krudo’. Participants will study composition, color, and various painting techniques, eventually creating a collective mural at Pozo de las Nieves Park.

In Jerez, the City Council has begun a campaign to decorate district walls and facades with murals by local artists. Mayor María José García-Pelayo recently visited a mural being created by artist Alberto Aucha Gómez at the Andrés de Ribera school. This specific piece focuses on visibility for functional diversity in children, promoting inclusion and integration through art. The city plans to continue these efforts in various districts, including San Miguel and near Parque Atlántico.
