Spanish municipalities launch urban infrastructure and accessibility projects

Local governments in Andalusia are implementing various urban infrastructure projects to improve accessibility and traffic flow.

In Dos Hermanas, the City Council has opened a new parking area in the Los Montecillos neighborhood on Calle Los Adaines. The project, which was initiated following resident requests, adds 30 new parking spaces to an underutilized area. The works included paving, drainage improvements, new signage, and the installation of dedicated spaces for people with reduced mobility, alongside upgraded public lighting.

In Benalmádena, the City Council is beginning a 254,463 euro project on Avenida Retamar to enhance circulation and pedestrian mobility. Funded largely by the Málaga Provincial Council, the works involve constructing a cantilever to widen the roadway to seven meters and creating a 2.25-meter-wide sidewalk to meet accessibility standards.
