Spanish municipalities launch youth leisure monitor training programs

The Alguazas town council in the Murcia region concluded its ninth edition of the Official Youth Leisure Monitor Course, training about fifteen young participants. The program, overseen by the municipal Youth Department, was celebrated by Mayor José Gabriel García and Youth Coordinator Bianca Martínez, who highlighted the graduates' new qualifications for summer camps and other leisure activities.

In the Basque Country, the Basauri municipality, through the youth organization ZirtZart, announced a new Leisure Monitor Course running from 19 September 2026 to 13 March 2027. The course includes theoretical lessons, three weekend stays at an Albergue, and a required 160‑hour volunteer practicum. Tuition is €170, with discounts for ZirtZart members and Gazte Txartela holders, and the qualification will be officially recognised by the Basque Government. Applications close on 2 September.
