Lorca, Santander and Ciudad Real expand summer programs to aid family work‑life balance

The Lorca City Council's Women’s Department has extended the deadline for its "Conciliamos la vuelta al cole" summer school, offering 210 places for children aged 3‑16 from 1–7 September. The initiative, financed by the national Equality Plan, aims to provide families with childcare support during the days before the new school year begins.

In Santander, Mayor Gema Igual promoted the municipal "El Veranuco" programme, noting its expansion to new schools this year and full enrollment of all slots. The scheme offers low‑cost or free participation for families, reserving places for children with special educational needs and offering discounts for large or single‑parent households.

Ciudad Real announced the opening of registrations for the "Limonada Familiar" event, part of the Pandorga 2026 celebrations, scheduled for 30 July at Auditorio La Granja. Registrations close on 24 July and can be made online or in person. The city also highlighted the second edition of its Urban Summer Camp at Finca Alarcos, which hosted 52 children and featured activities such as a foam party and water‑based games, reinforcing municipal support for family‑friendly leisure during the summer holidays.
