Spanish municipalities reinforce local security and housing control
The Lorca City Council has added two new census agents to its Census Control Unit to combat substandard housing, irregular census registrations, and urban planning violations. This reinforcement aims to ensure municipal records accurately reflect the population and prevent overcrowding or unsanitary living conditions. The unit, which includes technical architects and legal advisors, has conducted over 8,500 inspections in the last three years and has initiated the demolition of uninhabitable structures.
In El Escorial, four new local police officers have officially taken office, completing the municipal security force's staff. The new recruits are currently undergoing training at the Institute for Integral Training in Security and Emergencies (IFISE) in the Community of Madrid and will begin active street duties upon completion of their program.
