Spanish municipalities renew police fleets with hybrid vehicles
Municipalities in Spain are upgrading their local security and emergency service fleets with new hybrid and specialized vehicles.
In Hellín, the Local Police and Civil Protection have introduced five new vehicles to improve response capabilities. The police fleet now includes two hybrid patrol cars equipped with modern signaling systems and two motorcycles designed to access rural areas and difficult terrain. Additionally, Civil Protection has added a new vehicle specifically equipped for emergency services.
In Benalmádena, the City Council has awarded a contract for four hybrid 4x4 all-terrain vehicles for the Local Police. The acquisition, totaling 425,218.20 euros, follows a renting model that includes full maintenance and an option to purchase. Three of the vehicles will feature official branding, while one will remain unmarked for discreet operations. The hybrid technology is intended to reduce fuel consumption and emissions while providing the traction necessary for the area's steep streets and urbanizations.
