Spanish municipalities revise employment rules after political and legal challenges
The city council of Soria amended the specific job posting bases for 15 new municipal positions after the Vox party highlighted numerous procedural and data‑protection errors. Vox councilor Sara López said the original bases contained “copy‑and‑paste” mistakes and contradictions that could jeopardise the legality of future recruitment, prompting the PSOE‑led council to correct the documents.
In Malaga, the municipal government approved a €4.8 million payment to the public company Más Cerca to align its workers’ salaries with those of other city employees. The adjustment follows a court ruling that required the company to adopt the same collective bargaining agreement as the rest of the municipal staff, ending a previous dispute over unequal pay conditions.
