Spanish museums host exhibitions on anatomy and cardiovascular health
Various cultural and educational exhibitions are currently being held in Spain, focusing on the intersection of history, art, and health.
In Segovia, the Fundación Torreón de Lozoya is hosting the exhibition ‘Aprender anatomía hace un siglo’ until November 8. The display uses pieces from the MUVa Anatomical Museum to illustrate medical anatomical studies from the early 20th century. Accompanying activities include visits to the Faculty of Nursing, a lecture on the physician Andrés Laguna, storytelling sessions for children, and a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘Spellbound’.
In Madrid, the Museo Thyssen is hosting the ‘Arte y Salud’ exhibition through October 18. Organized by the Fundación Cultura en Vena, the showcase features six classical artworks digitally modified by Jorge Salgado to promote cardiovascular health awareness. The interventions incorporate elements such as defibrillators and heart rhythms into historical pieces to address topics like prevention, early diagnosis, and surgery.
