Spanish police investigate stabbing, fight rings and drug dens
Spanish authorities are conducting several investigations into violent incidents and criminal networks across different regions.
In Jaén, a stabbing occurred during the San Lucas Fair at the Alfonso Sánchez Herrera fairgrounds. A person was seriously injured by a knife, leading to the arrest of two men, aged 20 and 32. The Mayor of Jaén, Julio Millán, described the event as an isolated incident within a generally positive fair season.
In Granada, the National Police are investigating a network that organized clandestine fights among vulnerable individuals, including the homeless and those with addictions. The investigation follows the death of a 43-year-old Algerian man who died from a traumatic brain injury during a fight in September. Four organizers have been detained, and police are looking into whether spectators may be liable for crimes such as omission of assistance or hate crimes.
In Salamanca, police dismantled a fortified drug den, described as a bunker, used for the sale and consumption of narcotics. A man and a woman were arrested for drug trafficking and are also being investigated for the illegal detention and threatening of an individual held against their will.
