The Spanish Navy's Maritime Action Vessel (BAM) Tornado, based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, has completed a military mission involving the surveillance of Russian naval units.
According to the Spanish Defense Staff (EMAD), the vessel monitored Russian Federation Navy units as they transited through strategic maritime areas, including the Alboran Sea, the Strait of Gibraltar, and the Gulf of Cádiz. Following this tracking operation, the Tornado conducted maritime surveillance activities in the waters of the Canary Islands before returning to its base at the Arsenal of Las Palmas. The official report noted that the Russian vessels were in transit through these areas of national interest and did not specify the names or classes of the foreign ships involved.
