Spanish nursing organizations launch mental health support service

The Consejo General de Enfermería (CGE), in collaboration with Asisa, has launched an exclusive online psychological support service specifically for registered nurses in Spain. The initiative aims to address the significant mental health challenges and emotional costs faced by nursing professionals, which have been particularly pronounced since the pandemic.

The platform provides access to a team of psychologists specialized in healthcare worker support. Registered nurses can access 30-minute online consultations with a guaranteed response time of no more than five days. The service offers confidentiality, the ability to maintain continuity with the same professional, and a specialized rate of 16 euros per session.

Florentino Pérez Raya, president of the CGE, noted that nurses face numerous daily challenges that jeopardize their mental well-being, citing recent surveys that indicate serious psychological issues within the profession.
