Spanish officials promote industrial investment to China

Spanish regional authorities from Ciudad Real and Puertollano met with Wang Xueyong, China's Director General for West European Affairs, to discuss industrial and logistical cooperation. The meetings follow a recent diplomatic trip by the Mayor of Puertollano, Miguel Ángel Ruiz, as part of the Spain-China Mayors Dialogue.

During the visit, officials toured the Ciudad Real International Airport to showcase its potential as an intermodal logistics and industrial hub. The delegation, which included Miguel Ángel Valverde, President of the Ciudad Real Provincial Council, and various local mayors, explored opportunities for Chinese investment in strategic sectors such as energy, innovation, technology, and advanced industry.

Airport owner Rafael Gómez Arribas highlighted the facility's connectivity, noting its potential for integration with high-speed and conventional rail networks to strengthen its role as a transport node.
