Spanish opposition demands improved transport and infrastructure

The Partido Popular (PP) has issued several demands to the Spanish government regarding infrastructure and transportation improvements across various regions.

In Zamora, Elvira Velasco is taking the issue of early morning train services to the Congress of Deputies. She is seeking clarity on a meeting between the Zamora City Council and Renfe to determine what specific services were requested and what the railway operator's response was, specifically regarding an AVANT service that would allow commuters to reach Madrid before 8:00 AM.

In Aragon, PP representatives Ana Alós and Ignacio Dancausa have criticized the lack of investment in regional and high-speed rail, citing issues with reliability, punctuality, and high ticket prices. They contrasted the state of the railways with the success of new regional bus concessions.

In Palencia, Leticia García has called for better rail connections, including restoring AVE stops in Palencia for the Madrid-Gijón line and establishing a high-speed stop in Venta de Baños. Additionally, the party is requesting that Intercity Salamanca-Zaragoza trains include a stop in the province.

In Galicia, the PPdeG has denounced the central government for the unfinished A-54 highway between Lugo and Santiago, labeling the delay a “punishment” for the province and citing a lack of maintenance on several national roads.
