Spanish photography contests announce prize winners
José María Molina captured first place in the 37th Provincial Photography Contest of the Diputación de Palencia with his image “La mirada del laberinto,” earning a €700 award along with a trophy and diploma. The contest, themed “Lugares mágicos,” received 280 submissions from 229 photographers and also awarded second‑, third‑ and fourth‑place prizes and eight accésits.
In Pamplona, Miguel González won the first prize of the 16th International Photography of the Encierro (CIFE) with a photograph taken on the Mercaderes stretch, receiving €1,000. Sergio Gago earned the second prize (€500) for a shot of the second Estafeta stretch, while Marta Roca received the special jury prize for a picture of the Plaza de Toros. The CIFE competition involved 33 participants and 91 photographs across the ten stretches of the running of the bulls.
Both contests highlighted regional cultural heritage through photography and awarded monetary prizes and recognition to the winning artists.
