Spanish photography exhibition on fighting bulls attracts 415,000 visitors

The itinerant photography exhibition ‘Toro Bravo, el guardián de la biodiversidad’ (Fighting Bull, the Guardian of Biodiversity) has completed its first stage, attracting over 415,000 visitors across Madrid, Burgos, Málaga, and Sevilla. Promoted by the Real Unión de Criadores de Toros de Lidia (RUCTL), the showcase features works by photographers such as Arjona, Arse&Azpi, José Manuel Maza Martínez, GCB Comunicación Digital, and Isma Sánchez.

The exhibition aims to highlight the relationship between fighting bull ranching and the conservation of ecosystems like the dehesa. Extensive ranching is presented as a key activity for maintaining these landscapes and their biodiversity. The initiative saw significant engagement from younger audiences, with an estimated 100,000 young people attending. The project received support from various public and private institutions, including local governments in Madrid, Burgos, Málaga, and Sevilla.
