Spanish police arrest individuals for gold fraud and residential burglaries
National Police in Spain have dismantled a criminal group in Vigo specialized in defrauding gold buyers. Three men were arrested on October 19 after attempting to pawn jewelry that appeared to be solid gold but was actually high-quality gold-plated pieces. The group targeted businesses across Galicia, including Vigo, Pontevedra, Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, and Ourense, with documented fraud exceeding 19,500 euros.
In a separate operation in Lugo, police arrested a man linked to multiple residential burglaries. Following an initial arrest on October 15, investigators recovered personal items that allowed them to identify victims of two additional robberies involving a single-family home and an apartment. The suspect, who reportedly entered homes through windows, was also linked to a vehicle that was found burned after he attempted to flee from officers. He has been ordered into prison by judicial authorities.
