Spanish police bust major drug‑smuggling logistics network in Huelva

On 23 April and 13 May, Spain’s National Police and the Customs Surveillance Service carried out coordinated actions in the province of Huelva. Investigators first intercepted a high‑speed “narcolancha” near Punta Umbría and uncovered a nearby vessel used as a logistical hub supplying fuel, food and crew to boats transporting drugs from Morocco to the Spanish coast. A second phase revealed a rural farm in Gibraleón stocked with large quantities of fuel bottles that fed the same smuggling operation.

The operations seized about 800 fuel bottles containing roughly 20,000 litres (valued at €160,000), two semi‑rigid vessels and two cargo vans. Authorities also confiscated 300 additional bottles and numerous provisions at the boat, and 400 bottles (10,000 litres) at the farm. Four suspects were arrested and a fifth is under investigation.
