Spanish police detain suspect in €10,000 LEGO collection theft in Elche
Police National agents in Elche, Alicante, have detained a 31‑year‑old man suspected of stealing a collection of LEGO sets and other branded items valued at over €10,000. The theft was reported at the end of May when the owner, who runs a LEGO resale shop, discovered that a large number of rare pieces had been taken from his home in the Torrellano district.
Investigators traced the stolen items to second‑hand stores in Elche and Alicante, where the suspect attempted to sell them. Police seized the goods, recovered most of the collection from the suspect’s residence, and returned them to the victim. The suspect, identified as a neighbour of the victim, was placed before a judge. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities seeking any remaining stolen items and possible additional arrests.
