Spanish police bust gang responsible for 62 robberies in Madrid and Toledo

The Guardia Civil has dismantled a criminal gang that carried out 62 armed robberies in the Madrid region and the province of Toledo. The operation, dubbed “Plomba”, led to the arrest of seven suspects and the seizure of goods worth an estimated €257,000.

Investigators identified the group’s base in the town of Cubas de la Sagra, where stolen items and high‑end vehicles were stored and licence plates altered. The gang targeted truck drivers at service stations and forced entry into banks, post offices and tobacconists using specialized tools and electronic devices. Five home searches recovered numerous stolen goods, five luxury cars, five vans and two cloned car keys.

The operation involved the Madrid City Security Units (USECIC), the Reserve and Security Group (GRS) 1, and local police from Seseña, Añover de Tajo and Pantoja in Toledo.
