Spanish police dismantle violent robbery gang across Catalonia
The Spanish National Police, in joint operations with the Mossos d'Esquadra, have dismantled an organized criminal group responsible for a series of violent robberies. The gang carried out an armed assault on a recreational‑machine collection company in Castellón, threatening staff with a firearm, and a home robbery in Osor (Girona) where victims were bound with zip‑ties and threatened with a knife and a gun. Further crimes included forced‑entry burglaries in affluent neighborhoods of Barcelona, L'Hospitalet, and other Catalan towns.
Seven suspects were arrested after raids in Barcelona, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and Girona. Authorities seized simulated firearms, high‑end watches, jewelry, and a quantity of illicit drugs. The detainees now face charges of belonging to a criminal organization, robbery with violence, robbery with force, and drug trafficking.
