Tucumán brothers charged with homicide after armed clash
Two brothers, aged 22 and 16, have been charged with homicide and minor injuries following an armed confrontation in the Barrancas del Salí neighborhood of San Miguel de Tucumán. The suspects, identified as members of the gang ‘Los Pericotes’, are accused of co-authorship in the death of 48-year-old Fabiana Isabel Páez, who died in a hospital after being shot in the abdomen.
The incident occurred on Sunday, September 27, during a clash between two brothers and members of the gang. During the violence, the victim's 66-year-old mother, Isolina Isidora Décima, was also wounded by a projectile in the thigh.
Following a request from the Public Prosecutor's Office, a hearing was held to formalize the investigation and request coercive measures. The 22-year-old suspect, Gregorio Alberto Guzmán, remains in preventive detention, while the 16-year-old will be housed at the Cura Brochero Institute for three months. A third individual, the father of the two accused, has also been handed over to authorities.
