Spanish political groups launch new regional initiatives

Political organizations in Spain have launched new initiatives ahead of upcoming electoral cycles. In Lloret de Mar, Aliança Catalana presented its new local executive team, led by President Francesc “Tito” Codina. The party is beginning preparations for the 2027 municipal elections, focusing on issues such as tourism seasonality, housing, urbanism, and economic diversification through natural assets like hiking and gastronomy.

In Valencia, the Més-Compromís party, led by Joan Baldoví, has proposed a new Valencian emergency model to address extreme climate events. The proposal advocates for an integrated system, including the creation of a single firefighting corps, the recovery of the Valencian Emergency Unit, and a dedicated Valencian Meteorological Service. The party emphasizes the need for a well-staffed 112 emergency telephone service to ensure rapid and coordinated responses to torrential rains and forest fires.
