Spanish municipalities face various local political disputes
Various local political developments and disputes are occurring across several Spanish municipalities. In Lo Campano, the municipal government has invested over 200,000 euros to assist residents with roof and drain repairs and to rehabilitate approximately 30 municipal homes.
In Valladolid, the PSOE has accused the Sports Councilor, Mayte Martínez, of mismanagement regarding the Pisuerga Sports Center, claiming technical warnings about roof works were ignored for months, leading to a work stoppage. Meanwhile, in Vigo, the PP has criticized the local government's housing programs, stating that the municipal plan to purchase properties for rent has seen minimal interest.
In Talavera de la Reina, the PSOE is requesting an extraordinary plenary session to block the installation of biomethane plants by modifying municipal planning. In Los Barrios, the PSOE is demanding transparency regarding the local police recruitment process following complaints of irregularities in practical exams. In Ourense, the PP has rejected claims that they act as a mere support for the local government, citing their voting record on credit modifications. Finally, in Trevélez, the mayor has been denounced to the Prosecutor's Office by the PSOE for allegedly manipulating an administrative process to acquire a municipal home under a rent-to-own scheme.
