Spanish political parties begin preparations for 2027 municipal elections

Political parties in Spain have begun organizing for the 2027 municipal elections. In Santiago del Teide, Coalición Canaria has selected Fidel Montesdeoca as its mayoral candidate. Montesdeoca’s platform focuses on improving public services, security, and cleanliness, with a specific emphasis on renewing coastal tourism infrastructure and addressing the needs of higher-altitude residential areas.

In Pontevedra, the Partido Popular (PP) has also initiated preparations. Local president and mayoral candidate Rafa Domínguez met with the local board to emphasize the need for increased community presence and direct contact with citizens. Domínguez’s priorities include job creation, youth opportunities, housing access, mobility, and addressing homelessness and urban cleanliness.
