Spanish priest facilitates over 1,200 marriages via WhatsApp

Father Fernando Cuevas, a Spanish priest and member of Opus Dei, has assisted 1,280 single individuals in finding spouses and getting married over the last 15 years. Based near Valencia, the priest utilizes WhatsApp and a specific questionnaire to facilitate these connections for single Catholics.

To qualify for his matchmaking service, individuals must be over the age of 25 and attend Sunday Mass. Cuevas evaluates candidates based on their age, level of church involvement, location, and spiritual depth. He also considers practical factors, such as geographic proximity and age gaps, to help ensure successful matches.
