The PSOE has filed a request with Judge Santiago Pedraz of the Audiencia Nacional regarding the Leire Díez investigation. The political party is asking the court to limit access to its financial data to the Prosecutor's Office only and to perform an 'expurgo' (purging) of any information not directly related to the case.

The judicial investigation involves the tracking of approximately 81 bank accounts to identify potential connections between party resources and individuals accused of attempting to destabilize judicial proceedings. Among these accounts, six belong to the PSOE. Investigators are looking into whether party funds were used to finance an organization intended to protect party members from legal scrutiny.

Contradictions have emerged regarding the involvement of lawyer Jacobo Teijelo. While the UCO reports that the PSOE paid Teijelo at least 125,000 euros between late 2024 and mid-2025, the party maintains it has never contracted him for professional services. The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office is currently questioning the party's version of these financial transactions.
