Spanish prosecutors oppose lifting indictment of Gruconsa executives

The Spanish Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has formally requested that the indictment of executives from the construction company Gruconsa remain in place. This move opposes a request by the defendants—Francisco Oliva, María Dolores Moral Zafra, and Jonathan Oliva—to have their legal status modified or the investigation dismissed.

The investigation, part of the ‘Supercosa’ case, stems from a report by the Guardia Civil's Central Operative Unit (UCO). The UCO alleges that Gruconsa made payments without apparent justification to Dismatec Sport, a company managed by Francisco Javier Martín Alcaide, an associate of former Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) president Luis Rubiales.

Defense attorneys for the Gruconsa executives argue that the payments were not opaque, asserting that all transactions were properly accounted for and declared. The prosecution maintains that further statements and evidence are required before any changes to the defendants' legal standing can be considered.
