Spanish provinces invest in new regional fire stations

Regional authorities in Spain are advancing significant infrastructure projects to modernize emergency response services in the provinces of Castellón and Alicante.

In Castellón, the Provincial Consortium of Firefighters has provisionally awarded the contract for a new fire station in Oropesa del Mar. With a budget exceeding 3.5 million euros, the facility will span over 2,600 square meters. The project, which aims to address long-standing local demands, is expected to take 18 months to complete following the final adjudication process.

In Alicante, the Diputación de Alicante has broken ground on a new fire station in Elda. This project has a budget of approximately 4.77 million euros and will feature a 2,000-square-meter facility that is three times larger than the current station. The new building will include a vehicle hangar, a maneuver tower, and a helipad, designed with high energy efficiency. Once completed, the station will serve 15 municipalities within the Vinalopó Operational Zone.
