Spanish provincial authorities invest in road infrastructure improvements

Provincial authorities in Spain are undertaking several road infrastructure projects to improve safety and connectivity.

In Jaén, the Diputación is executing a 470,000 euro project on the JV-3045 road, which connects Lupión with the Linares-Baeza Station. The works involve improving approximately five kilometers of the road through cement recycling of the base and the application of a new asphalt layer. The project also includes the construction of new concrete drainage ditches and the replacement of both vertical and horizontal signaling. Currently, 35 percent of the work has been completed.

In Badajoz, the Diputación has opened the bidding process for reinforcement works on the BA-065 road, connecting Fregenal de la Sierra with the Ermita de los Remedios. This project has a tender budget of nearly 700,000 euros with an estimated execution period of three months. The intervention aims to improve the road surface, clean ditches and drains, and enhance safety through new horizontal signaling, reflective elements every 25 meters, and the installation of speed bumps in high-gradient areas.
