Spanish provincial authorities launch municipal investment programs

Provincial governments in Spain are launching significant investment programs to support small municipalities. In Almería, the Diputación de Almería has announced a 700,000 euro plan to provide traffic surveillance cameras to towns with up to 5,000 inhabitants. Part of the broader ‘Almería 103’ strategy, which involves a 17 million euro total investment, this initiative aims to improve road safety and traffic regulation. The funding will cover 100% of the purchase and installation costs for up to 83 municipalities, with the number of cameras provided depending on the town's population size.

In Albacete, the Diputación de Albacete has approved a new resolution for the ‘Dipualba Responde 2026’ program, allocating 1,383,155 euros to various municipal projects. This program, which is projected to reach a total investment of nearly 13 million euros in 2026, targets local entities with fewer than 20,000 residents. The funds are designated for diverse infrastructure improvements, including water supply networks, street paving, public building rehabilitation, street lighting, and the upgrading of sports and cultural facilities in numerous towns across the province.
