Spanish public sector unions negotiate new collective agreements in Garafía and Ceuta

The Central Sindical Independiente y de Funcionarios (CSIF) and the municipal council of Garafía on La Palma signed an agreement to approve a new collective bargaining contract for municipal staff. The deal updates a 20‑year‑old agreement, introducing higher productivity bonuses for holiday shifts, expanded promotion pathways, and new social benefits such as aid for medical expenses, marital status, seniority and education. It also raises overtime pay, temporary disability compensation and introduces a mixed compensation system for work on public holidays.

In the Spanish autonomous city of Ceuta, the unions CCOO, UGT and CSIF have formally begun negotiations to renew the regulatory agreement and collective bargaining contract for public employees. The unions describe the step as essential to revise working conditions, rights, organization and other improvements demanded by staff, aiming for greater security, stability and tangible benefits for the municipal workforce.
