Spanish radio networks announce major morning programming changes
Major shifts are occurring in the Spanish radio landscape as several leading networks announce significant changes to their morning programming. Following the second wave of the 2026 General Media Study (EGM), Cadena SER remains the market leader with 4,403,000 listeners, followed by COPE with 3,581,000 and Onda Cero with 2,265,000.
Cadena SER will undergo a notable transition in its flagship morning slot, ‘Hoy por hoy’. Aimar Bretos is set to take over the program from Àngels Barceló. Additionally, José Luis Sastre will succeed Bretos on the program ‘Hora 25’.
Onda Cero is also implementing changes to its primary morning lineup. In contrast, COPE plans to maintain its current leading figures for its morning broadcasts heading into September.
