Spanish regional events highlight olive oil and gastronomic heritage

Various regional initiatives in Spain are highlighting olive oil production and gastronomic heritage through specialized tours and educational events.

In Cuenca, the Elige Cuenca project has organized the Mancha Alta route for October 3. The itinerary includes a visit to the Monasterio de Uclés to examine its medieval architecture, followed by visits to Mancha Oliva in Tarancón for an olive oil tasting and Pisterra in Fuente de Pedro Naharro to observe organic pistachio production.

In Baeza, the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía (UNIA) will host the 12th edition of its extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) tasting session on November 18. Directed by María Soledad Román, the event focuses on the 2026/2027 new harvest. The program combines theoretical instruction with sensory analysis of various olive oil profiles, including monovarietal, organic, and blended oils, featuring experts from various agricultural and technological institutions.
