Spanish regional forums promote disability and educational inclusion
Various regional events in Spain have focused on promoting inclusion for people with disabilities and improving educational environments.
In Alcalá de Henares, the National Meeting of Plena Inclusión Families concluded with participation from local, regional, and national officials. Mayor Judith Piquet emphasized that achieving real inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities requires a shared responsibility between public administrations, social entities, and citizens. The forum highlighted the importance of autonomy, active participation, and self-representation for people with disabilities.
In Albacete, the II Inclusion Fair of Castilla-La Mancha was held to address challenges in the education sector. Organized by Familias por la Inclusión Educativa de Castilla-La Mancha, the event featured talks and roundtables involving students, teachers, and families. Local officials noted the need to tackle issues such as diversity, coexistence, and emotional well-being to ensure all children have equal educational opportunities.
