Spanish regional governments announce housing and waste management funds
Various Spanish regional and local governments have announced new funding and urban development measures. In Aragon, the regional government approved over 4.3 million euros to fund the demolition of dilapidated buildings across 92 municipalities. This initiative, distributed in installments throughout 2026 and 2027, aims to improve public safety, increase available urban land, and combat rural depopulation.
In Soria, the local government has allocated 133,645.28 euros to assist 352 families with basic housing maintenance costs. Additionally, the council approved construction licenses for 20 new single-family homes in the La Viña-El Cañuelo area.
In the Valencia region, El Consell approved a one-million-euro agreement to support 13 waste management consortia. The funds are intended to incentivize the separate collection of organic and bio-waste to improve recycling rates and resource management.
