Spanish regions allocate €3.2 million to municipalities for equality and depopulation programmes

The Andalusian Ministry of Employment, Enterprise and Self‑Employment announced a new aid scheme worth €100,000 to help municipalities, local autonomous entities and public consortia finance gender‑equality and work‑life‑balance activities. Projects may receive up to €2,000 and must be submitted between 31 July and 13 August. Funded actions include awareness campaigns, workshops, conferences and informational material aimed at flexible working hours, preventing discrimination and workplace harassment.

In Navarre, the Department of Territorial Cohesion launched a €3 million call for proposals targeting 22 municipalities to combat depopulation. The programme, presented by Director General Jesús Marí Rodríguez in Egillor, supports housing, care, mobility, accessibility, work‑space and local services projects. The goal is to modernise rural environments, create attractive communities and halt population loss, with a focus on concrete solutions such as renovating former schools into multifunctional health and wellness centres.
