Spanish regions announce healthcare budget and salary increases

Regional governments in Spain are announcing significant investments in healthcare and emergency services. In Cantabria, the 2027 health budget is projected to increase by over 140 million euros, reaching nearly 1.5 billion euros. Approximately 100 million euros of this increase is earmarked for professional investments and salary improvements.

In the Community of Madrid, the government is launching the ‘Summa 360’ plan to support the Summa 112 emergency medical service. The plan includes salary increases starting in 2027, providing 5,800 euros annually for doctors, 3,700 euros for nursing staff, and 2,400 euros for emergency technicians. The initiative also aims to modernize infrastructure, improve work conditions, and renew the mobile resource fleet, including intensive care units.
