Ai Ogura wins first Japanese MotoGP race as Jorge Martín takes championship lead
At the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen, Ai Ogura became the first Japanese rider to win a MotoGP race since 2004, beating teammate Raúl Fernández and finishing ahead of Jorge Martín, who took third place. Ogura’s victory gave Trackhouse Aprilia a historic double, with Fernández finishing second. Martín’s podium moved him to the top of the world championship standings with 193 points, overtaking teammate Marco Bezzecchi, who crashed on lap two, was taken to the circuit medical centre and scored no points, leaving him on 186. Bezzecchi was conscious after the violent high‑speed fall but suffered no serious injury. Fabio Di Giannantonio completed the top four, while Marc Márquez finished seventh after a penalty. In the supporting classes, David Alonso won the Moto2 race by 0.024 seconds over Manuel González, and Maximo Quiles claimed victory in Moto3, extending his championship lead. The Dutch GP thus featured a historic MotoGP win, a change of championship leader, and close battles across all categories.
