Spanish rowers Lagares, Cid, Horta and Conde target European medals
Junior canoeists Anton Lagares and Javier Cid have concluded a demanding season that included podium finishes at the World Junior Championships in Halifax, Canada, and the European Junior Championships in Szeged, Hungary. Competing in the Spanish championship at the Trasona reservoir in Asturias, the pair expressed fatigue but remained focused on enjoying their final races, having earned a silver medal in the C4 500 m at Worlds and a bronze in the C1 200 m at the European event.
In the senior category, Galician rowers Rodrigo Conde and Caetano Horta qualified for the A final of the double scull at the European Championships in Varese, Italy, after posting strong times in the semifinals. The duo, together for only four months, are aiming for a medal as they continue Spain’s strong showing in international rowing competitions.
