Spanish Royal Family attends Formula 1 Grand Prix in Madrid
King Felipe VI of Spain attended the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid, accompanied by Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía. This marked the first official appearance of the two princesses as representatives of the Spanish Crown at a Formula 1 event.
During their visit to the pit lane at the newly opened Madring circuit, the royal trio met with Spanish Formula 1 drivers Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz. Queen Letizia was not in attendance for the event.
The appearance follows a series of public sporting engagements for the sisters, including previous attendance at women's football championships and tennis matches.
