Spanish Royal Family engages in disability advocacy and public appearances

The Spanish Royal Family has demonstrated a consistent commitment to social causes and human connection through various public engagements. Over the first eight months of the year, members of the monarchy participated in more than eight meetings with the disability community.

Infanta Sofía recently inaugurated the Fundación ONCE Guide Dog Clinical and Care Complex in Boadilla del Monte, interacting with service dogs intended to assist the visually impaired. Additionally, Queen Letizia met with the Claudia Tecglen Foundation to discuss improving opportunities and perceptions for people living with disabilities.

In a separate instance highlighting the family's more personal side, King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, and Princess Leonor made an unannounced stop at Casa Fernando, a roadside bar in Asturias. The stop occurred in 2022 when the Princess and Infanta Sofía were suffering from gastroenteritis, showcasing a moment of vulnerability and natural interaction with local citizens.
