Spanish sci‑fi series ‘Punto Nemo’ premieres on Cuatro and Prime Video
The new Spanish science‑fiction series Punto Nemo, created by Maxi Iglesias, launches tonight on the Cuatro network with a double‑episode broadcast at 23:00. The drama, also released exclusively on Prime Video, follows a mixed team of scientists and Spanish Navy personnel on an oceanographic mission to the Pacific’s “island of plastic”. A severe storm forces the crew onto a remote island that was once a Russian military outpost, turning the expedition into a fight for survival.
Filmed on the coasts of Galicia and Portugal, the series is a co‑production of Ficción Producciones and Ukbar Filmes, with support from the Xunta de Galicia, RTP, the Diputación de Pontevedra and TVG. It is directed by Denis Rovira and written by Daniel Martín Sáez de Parayuelo and Daniel Benmayor, starring Maxi Iglesias, Óscar Jaenada, Alba Flores, Najwa Nimri, Margarida Corceiro and others.
