Spanish skate champion Egoitz Bijueska and Getxo’s CPH Open 2026 attract world’s top riders
Fifteen‑year‑old Egoitz Bijueska from Bilboa has become Spain’s first world champion in skateboarding, winning the park event with a 95.83‑point score and positioning himself as a favourite for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
The CPH Open 2026, an international skate competition organized by the Copenhagen Open, will be held in Getxo on 8 August. The two‑day event will feature pool, bank, half‑pipe and trick‑best sections for both men and women, with participants from Australia, Sweden, Chile, France, Japan and other countries. Road closures in Getxo are planned during the competition to ensure safety.
Both the champion’s breakthrough and the upcoming contest highlight the growing prominence of skateboarding in Spain and its increasing integration into the global skate scene.
