Spanish Socialist Party criticizes regional and national PP leadership

The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) has leveled criticisms against both regional and national leaders of the People's Party (PP). In the Region of Murcia, PSOE spokesperson Carmina Fernández accused President Fernando López Miras of prioritizing alignment with Alberto Núñez Feijóo over supporting an increase in the minimum wage (SMI).

Fernández highlighted that Murcia has the second-lowest average salary in Spain, trailing the national average by 265 euros per month. She noted that over 100,000 people in the region would benefit from an SMI increase and criticized the regional government for conditioning support on agreements with employers.

At the national level, the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration, Elma Saiz, accused PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo of masking potential privatization and cuts behind his proposal to reconstruct the Toledo Pact regarding pensions. Saiz argued that while Feijóo claims to support pension stability, his party previously voted against reforms that guaranteed pension revaluation according to inflation.
