Spanish Society of Neurology launches Brain Bus tour

The Spanish Society of Neurology (SEN) has announced the launch of the ‘Brain Bus’ initiative to promote brain health across five Spanish cities. Running from September 28 to October 2, the tour coincides with Brain Week and will visit Guadalajara, Logroño, Santander, Oviedo, and Lugo.

Local neurologists and SEN members will provide free consultations, answer public questions, and offer activities and tests to help citizens assess their neurological health and learn preventative habits. The initiative aims to raise awareness about neurological diseases, which affect more than 23 million people in Spain.

Dr. Jesús Porta-Etessam, president of the SEN, noted that neurological diseases are a leading cause of disability in the country, accounting for 44 percent of chronic disease disability. He emphasized that as the population ages, the socio-sanitary burden is expected to increase, making early prevention and healthy lifestyle habits essential.
