Spanish solidarity initiatives support cancer research and awareness

Various solidarity initiatives are underway in Spain to support the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in its mission for research and patient support.

In Santander, the “Santander en Marcha Contra el Cáncer” race is scheduled for September 5. The 9 km coastal route aims to raise funds for cancer research and the association's free psychological services. The event is championed by Bruno Macho, a Spanish boxing champion and childhood cancer survivor. Organizers emphasize that the funds will support the goal of reaching a 70% survival rate by 2030.

Additionally, acrobat Josué Jaime Brosjaca and the group Planeta Movimiento are conducting a solidarity challenge to raise 100,000 euros for the AECC. The initiative involves a tour of 50 Spanish provinces in 50 days. Brosjaca has gained attention for performing “burflips”—a combination of burpees and backflips—as part of his athletic demonstration to spread awareness and collect donations.
