Spanish sports updates: Cantbasket 04 renews coach and CD Albense FS signs new players

Cantbasket 04 has reached an agreement to extend José Ignacio Álvaro as the head coach for the 2026/27 season. Following a seventh-place finish in the Tercera FEB with a 14-12 record, the club aims to provide stability and consolidate its position in national competition. Álvaro brings extensive experience, having coached over 300 matches across 12 seasons in the category.

In futsal, CD Albense FS has announced eight new signings for the 2026/27 season, including Alvarito, Manjón, Guto, Hugo, Antón, Toti, Garci, and Marcos Alonso. The new players, working under coach Javi Hernández, cited the club's long-term project and the strong involvement of the local fanbase as primary reasons for joining the team in the Segunda B category.
