Spanish stock market pays record €26.4 bn in first‑half dividends

Spanish listed companies distributed €26.399 billion in dividends during the first half of 2026, a 21.65% increase over the same period a year earlier. In June alone, payouts amounted to €2.334 billion, ten percent lower than June 2025. The total dividends paid in 2025 reached €42.671 billion, up 13.2% year‑on‑year and marking the highest level since BME’s series began in 2018.

The market capitalisation of Spanish equities rose by €61.742 billion in June, a 3.6% monthly gain that lifted the total to €1.740 trillion, representing a 9.3% rise for the year to date. The Ibex 35 index closed June at 19,471 points, up 6% for the month and 12.5% for the first half of 2026. Prominent dividend‑paying firms included Ebro Foods, IAG, Bankinter, Acciona Energía, Telefónica, Iberdrola, Endesa, Repsol and ACS. In July, around thirty companies are expected to distribute more than €7.556 billion, with major contributions from Iberdrola, Endesa, Repsol and ACS.
