Spanish students and families protest educational resource shortages

Students and families at different educational institutions in Spain are staging protests to demand better resources and the restoration of school activities.

At Institut Banús, approximately eighty students protested against the cancellation of school trips. Students stated that the trips were removed as a pressure tactic due to a lack of resources, which they claim the Department of Education must address. While the demonstration was largely peaceful, school officials reported a violent incident where an object was thrown toward the center, prompting a request for Mossos d'Esquadra intervention.

In Port de Sagunt, families from CEIP Mediterráneo held a demonstration following months of perceived inaction from regional and local administrations. Protesters are demanding more support staff, climate control in classrooms, a gymnasium, and a safer school environment. The local City Council has expressed a willingness to meet with the Parents' Association to discuss these needs, including issues regarding pedestrian safety and school access points.
